Solution:
This solution employs the V6T ablative cable coating, applied via manual brushing or airless spraying to form a high-efficiency firestop protective layer on cable jackets. As a weather-resistant, water-based coating compliant with UL 1479 (ASTM E814) and FM Global standards, it is designed for semi-outdoor environments. The coating incorporates intumescent technology, releasing water molecules upon fire exposure to absorb thermal energy and reduce surface temperature by ≥325°F (180°C) as required by T Rating criteria. Its dense, crack-free structure continuously prevents flame spread along cables, maintaining integrity during the UL 1479 hose stream test (30 PSI, 1.5 sec/ft²).
In non-fire conditions, the coating exhibits:
- Superior flexibility (compatible with UL 1479 Section 6A water leakage test requirements)
- Bend resistance (withstands ≥90° flexure without cracking)
- Seismic stability (meets UL-Systems.pdf mechanical fastening standards for dynamic loads)
- Water resistance (passes 3-ft water pressure head test per UL 1479 Annex 6A)
Ideal for high-maintenance scenarios with messy cable bundling (e.g., communication cables), it complies with the annular space requirements of C-AJ-8318.pdf (min 0 in. point contact to max 4 in. clearance) and supports up to 4 in. diameter cable bundles as specified in W-J-8073_STI.pdf.
